Anthony Gallardo is looking for a grand finale during Saturday's TAPPS Class 5A state cross country meet in Waco. After helping Antonian to three team titles and claiming the individual crown this past fall, the senior wants to finish his high school career at the Baylor Cross Country Course with a four-peat. If things go as Gallardo hopes, a repeat as individual champion will follow. The most impressive outing came in the final tune-up for the state meet as Gallardo won the gold medal at the Round Rock McNeil Invitational. “We had graduated a lot of seniors and I was coming back as the No. 1 runner on the team,” said Gallardo, who finished second individually to teammate Andrew Gazda during his sophomore season.
