Volleyball player Ashlyn Westerman and basketball player Royal Crouch took home the top senior athlete awards when Wayland Baptist presented its annual spring athletic awards on Sunday evening in the Laney Center.

With a double dose of points from men's and women's basketball, Wayland Baptist held strong in the fifth spot in the final winter report of the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup NAIA standings.

After strong showings in track and field, swimming, and wrestling, Wayland Baptist moved into fourth place in the latest Learfield Sports Directors' Cup NAIA standings.

Nominations are being accepted for the 2015 Wayland Baptist University Athletics Hall of Honor as well as the Harley Redin Coach's Award.

Cross country runners Melissa Cejas and Kevin Dunn were named to the Sooner Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team Wednesday, joining nearly 50 other student-athletes on the team.

Wayland Baptist is slotted 27th at the conclusion of fall semester reporting in the 2014-15 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup NAIA standings.
