For a second straight year, the Baylor women's cross country team won the HBU Invitational on Friday. Sophomore Peyton Thomas took the overall individual title with a time of 19:21.0 over the 5,000-meter course.

A total of 20 Baylor women's cross country runners will be in action at the HBU Invitational at 5 p.m. on Friday in Houston, Texas.

After debuting at No. 24 a week ago, the Baylor women's cross country team climbed to No. 22 in the week four edition of the National Coaches Poll released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Baylor cross country men took 10th and the women placed 14th on Saturday at the Chile Pepper Festival.
